Dr. Stuart Brown spent his life researching the value of play across the lifespan. He found that there are 8 different ways we all engage in play - yes, even adults! According to his Play Personalities, I am:

  • The Director: I thrive when I can bring structure to chaos and create systems and plans. 

  • The Explorer: I love to travel, explore new places and learn new things.

Essentially, I love diving deep into people’s stories and experiences (Explorer), and I love helping make sense of them and guide meaningful change (Director).

FUN FACTS:

  • After college, I lived in Mexico for several years -- an experience that deeply shaped both my career and who I am today 

  • My can't-live-without-them essentials are books, coffee, and chapstick. 

  • Staying active is one of my favorite forms of self-care, whether that's Crossfit, walking or running 

  • I have a mini-bernedoodle named Lucy and she is my bff!

I believe in the inherent worth and value of every child. In the playroom, my goal is to create a safe space where children feel empowered to use their voice, build healthy relationships, and experience being truly seen and valued. I believe play is the primary language of children, and when we engage with them at their level, we communicate that their inner world matters.

My approach is client-centered and trauma-informed, allowing each child to lead the session at their own pace while feeling supported and understood.

I earned my Master’s in Social Work from The Ohio State University and have worked with children in a variety of mental health settings, both locally and internationally, over the past ten years. Through it all, I continue to believe that simply being present with a child is one of the greatest gifts we can offer.

I practice under the supervision of Candy Ulitzsch, LISW-S, RPT-S™.
