Dr. Stuart Brown spent his life researching the value of play across the lifespan. He found that there are 8 different ways we all engage in play - yes, even adults! According to his Play Personalities, I am:

  • The Joker: I love bringing joy and laughter to my friends and family. Nothing is more rewarding or healing than making others laugh.

  • The Explorer: Whether through literature, documentaries, and hearing from others, I love discovering and learning new subjects, people, and places.

FUN FACTS:

  • Huge dog lover!

  • Fan of all things sports-related! Specifically OSU and Bengals football

  • Music and coffee fanatic

About Kayley

I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker with a Master’s in Social Work from The Ohio State University. I am dedicated to working with children and adolescents ages 3–18, in close collaboration with their caregivers. My experiences in non-profit, community, home, and school-based settings have shaped my passion for providing comprehensive, strengths-based care that meets each person where they are.

I believe deeply in the power of play and strive to align my therapeutic approaches with each individual’s unique needs, strengths, and sensory profile. I integrate evidence-based and developmentally appropriate interventions, addressing areas such as depression, anxiety, trauma, LGBTQIA+ support, and culturally responsive care; ensuring every person is seen, respected, and supported as their authentic self.

As a strong advocate for neurodivergent populations, I utilize neurodiverse-affirming care and therapeutic modalities such as modified Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), child-centered play therapy, and AutPlay therapy. I am also committed to supporting families through the Collaborative & Proactive Solutions model, which emphasizes autonomy, understanding neurobiology, and fostering connection in parent coaching and family sessions.

Under play therapy supervision of Candy Ultizsch, LISW-S, RPT-S™
